Work out your body mass index (BMI) in metric or imperial units.
Good to know
- BMI is a quick screening measure, not a diagnosis. It doesn’t distinguish muscle from fat.
- Adult categories: under 18.5 underweight, 18.5 to 24.9 healthy weight, 25 to 29.9 overweight, 30 or more obesity.
- Different cut-offs may apply for some ethnic groups, and for children and teens.
- Waist size, activity and blood tests give a fuller picture. Ask your doctor.
