Every health claim on The Vital Ledger should be traceable to a source you can check yourself.
What we cite
- Systematic reviews and meta-analyses where they exist
- Randomized controlled trials and large observational studies in humans
- Guidance from public health bodies and professional medical organizations
- Government nutrition and safety data
What we avoid
- Single small studies presented as settled science
- Press releases and marketing claims without the underlying data
- Animal or lab results presented as if they apply to people
- Sources with an undisclosed commercial interest
How sources appear
Articles end with a numbered sources list. When research is early or mixed, we say so with an evidence rating at the top of the article.
Keeping it current
We review popular articles regularly and update them when the evidence changes. Spotted something out of date? Email editors@thevitalledger.com.
